Beta Gamma Chapter Investment Club, Inc. is the philanthropic investment vehicle of the Beta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., seated at Virginia State University. We pool contributions, educate Participants, and direct every return toward the chapter and the broader community.

How BGCIC differs

Three principles, by charter.

BGCIC is not a traditional investment club. The structure below is fixed by the organization's charter and bylaws, not by convention.

No personal profit

Contributions fund education and community impact. There are no personal distributions, no ownership stakes, and no withdrawals.

One Participant, one voice

Governance is equal regardless of contribution level. The Undergraduate Participant and the Alumni Participant carry the same weight in club decisions.

A 100-year mandate

Every quarter compounds toward a chapter house, a real estate portfolio, and the $1,000,000 pledge to Virginia State University.

Four goals. One trajectory.

BGCIC is built across generations. Each goal compounds into the next; each Participant inherits a longer runway than the one before.

  1. Ongoing

    Educate Participants on investments

    Every Participant leaves more financially literate than they arrived. Coursework, deal review, and shared decision-making turn dues into durable understanding.

  2. Near-term

    Acquire a Beta Gamma chapter house

    A permanent home for the Beta Gamma Chapter, owned by BGCIC. Serving Brothers across generations and grounding the chapter geographically at VSU.

  3. Multi-decade

    Build a portfolio of real estate assets

    A diversified, income-producing real estate portfolio whose returns fund education, the chapter house, and the VSU endowment pledge in perpetuity.

  4. 10-year pledge

    Pledge $1,000,000 to Virginia State University

    Ten annual installments of $100,000 to the VSU endowment fund for tuition assistance. Capitalized by portfolio returns, never by personal distributions, never by withdrawals.
